A “checked reference” means that the citation metadata was confirmed against PubMed or the publisher DOI record; it does not mean that the paper is a validation study, that the evidence is high quality, or that the tool is endorsed. Reference type and evidence level are shown separately (see Methodology).

They are not pooled meta-analytic estimates and will differ across settings and populations. Pooled figures for the best-studied screening tools, with their own citations, are on the Compare page.
